English: In the face of those who insist on viewing LGBTQ+ people as a threat, our act of rebellion is to be happy, free, and loud. There are many books about coming out of the closet. This is not one of them. Instead, we prefer to ask ourselves: How can we build a society in which closets simply do not exist? We must stop viewing heterosexuality and cisgender identities as "the norm" and instead read the world through different eyes—recognizing that there is an infinite number of ways to love, desire, relate, exist, and express ourselves, and that all of them are valid. English: There are forms of grief that society acknowledges, validates, and supports. And there are other forms of grief that can only be lived out in secret—without witnesses, without rituals, and without the right to solace. Francisco Javier Olivas has dedicated this book to exploring precisely that dark zone of human experience: the grieving process following the death of a partner among lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals. The work—the fruit of research conducted at the University of Granada involving 27 participants who have lost their partners—is a deeply moving document revealing how heteropatriarchy conditions not only shapes the ways we love, but also the ways we die and are mourned. Through testimonies that blend pain, courage, and a tenderness that defies oppression, Olivas constructs an essay that serves simultaneously as a political indictment, a clinical tool, and an act of symbolic reparation. Yet *Otro dolor* is also a book about the resilience of love. For, as Olivas demonstrates, no system of oppression is capable of breaking the human capacity to love and be loved. The collected testimonies speak of intense bonds, of mutual care, and of shared lives that deserve to be mourned with dignity. They also speak to the internal nuances within the community: lesbian women face an even more complex grieving process—one compounded by a "double invisibility" that exposes them to specific forms of both symbolic and material violence.

With the help of his cousin and best friend Maritza, he performs the ritual himself, and then sets out to find the ghost of his murdered cousin and set it free. However, the ghost he summons is actually Julian Diaz, the school's resident bad boy, and Julian is not about to go quietly into death. He's determined to find out what happened and tie off some loose ends before he leaves. Left with no choice, Yadriel agrees to help Julian, so that they can both get what they want. But the longer Yadriel spends with Julian, the less he wants to let him leave.
